The village of Le Grand-Bornand, located in Haute-Savoie, lies right between the Aravis and the Bornes mountains. This is where our 3-star campsite Clos du Pin is located. Activities in Grand-Bornand in winter

When the town dons its white coat, the question arises as to what to do in Grand-Bornand. So here’s a taste of what’s to come.

As a first activity, we suggest you ski or snowboard down the 47 slopes of the Alpine ski area. Whether green, blue, red or black, enjoy the 84 kilometres of pistes. For experienced skiers, access Mont Lachat, at an altitude of 2100m, and admire the panoramic view of the Aravis mountain range. Picnic and relaxation areas are available throughout the ski area.
Do you like ski touring? Five routes are available, including one for night skiing.

After a good day of skiing, what could be better than a moment of relaxation? For this, we recommend the altitude spa Ô des Cimes, in the village of Lessy. Open from December to April, treat yourself to a moment of well-being.
For our holidaymakers, our Clos du Pin campsite offers a sauna and a Nordic bath during the opening period.

Biathlon fans, the Grand-Bornand is the place to be for international competitions. Every year the IBU Biathlon World Cup takes place in Annecy- Le Grand-Bornand. For a whole week, live to the rhythm of the events. At the same time, enjoy the entertainment and the exhibitors’ village where the atmosphere is just as present.

For history lovers and enthusiasts, we recommend a visit to the heritage house. Recognised as a historical monument since 2007, this beautiful house bears witness to life in a completely different era and offers its visitors total immersion. On your way, don’t miss the Church of Notre-Dame of the Assumption. Dating from 1569, this church, which was once made of wood, has stood the test of time and historical events to become a reflection of the golden age of the Catholic Church.
Finally, don’t leave Grand-Bornand without visiting the hamlet of Vieux Chinaillon. A beautiful guided tour with an exceptional view of the estate.

The activities in Grand-Bornand promise visitors a memorable and lively winter. But what about activities and entertainment in summer?

La Colombiere des Neiges: this high altitude restaurant in Le Grand-Bornand is the ideal restaurant to stop for a break between two runs. Perfect for a coffee break at 10am, or for lunch, this chalet on the slopes offers quality dishes, served indoors or with your feet in the snow.

Le Confins Des Sens: open since October 2009, this gastronomic restaurant in Grand-Bornand offers magnificent tables in an enchanted setting. In the corner of the fireplace or on a terrace facing the mountains, you will enjoy a gourmet and friendly cuisine.

Le Casanova : Savoyard specialities or tasty pizzas, this restaurant and pizzeria in Grand-Bornand serves simple and generous dishes in a warm room with an open kitchen. The 3 key words: conviviality, simplicity and passion.

La Bournerie: if you want to eat a good raw milk raclette (with a nice piece of cheese and not small slices), then go to the restaurant La Bournerie. The glassed-in veranda with a view of the slopes and the outdoor terrace welcome you in a magnificent mountain setting.

Culinary specialities in Grand-Bornand

La Péla: behind this name lies a delicious dish known as “tartiflette”. Péla is the “real” tartiflette, some would say its ancestor. What makes it special? Elle est préparée à base de pommes de terre rissolées (et non cuites à l’eau). For the rest, you will find bacon, onions and reblochon cheese.
