Château d’If
Fortress dating from 1529 (under the reign of François 1er), the castle of If knew several functions which made it one of the most known French monuments. Protector of the port of Marseille and the coasts, state prison, place of inspiration for many artists among whom Alexandre Dumas… It is one of the most visited tourist sites of Marseille. Built on an islet, it has a typical architecture of the time, made up of 3 towers each composed of 3 levels full of secrets and legends. Having never suffered any attack, its walls and the whole building remain very well preserved. A pleasure for the eyes that we can only recommend!
