Sculpted by the waters of the Verdon, these gorges bear the same name as the river. They stretch between Castellane and Lake Sainte-Croix, marking the boundary between Var and Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. Three distinct sections make up this natural site
The first section, called the ‘pre-gorges,’ begins at Castellane and extends to the Pont-de-Soleils.
Following that is the middle section, which leads to La Palud-sur-Verdon.
Finally, the third segment connects the Galetas Bridge to Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.
This canyon, both deep and narrow, has widths ranging from 6 to 100 meters. Its impressive depth varies from 250 to 700 meters.
